Barracudas / Next Time Around (b/w) Takes What He Wants
Sympathy For The Record Industry Records SFTRI-49 (1989)(US) This is a Blue vinyl 7” Record (with picture sleeve).
These tracks are from their album, The Garbage Tapes. This London-based Anglo-American band, whose members include
Jeremy Gluck (vocals), Robin Wills (guitar), David Buckley (bass) and Nick Turner (drums), was formed in 1979
and scored a U.K. chart hit in 1980 with the neo-surf song "Summer Fun." Turner and Buckley left after the release of
the first album Drop Out With the Barracudas (1981) and were replaced by Jim Dickson and Terry Smith.
Chris Wilson also joined on guitar. This quintet made the second and third albums, Meantime and Endeavour to Preserve,
which were released only in France. The Barracudas disbanded in December 1984, but re-formed in 1989.

from Hamburg, Germany, in the Pavement vein; in fact Blumfeld has toured with the American band. Where Blumfeld differs
from Pavement and from such fellow indie-poppers as the Bartlebees is in their lyrics, which are in German — though
singer Jochen Distelmeyer is known to drop in the occasional English phrase. Blumfeld are considered a key group
of the "Hamburger Schule," a musical movement that combines lo-fi, punk and pop elements with primarily German lyrics.
