Rounder Records 9014 (1987)(US) Record on U.S. vinyl. "Modern Lovers 88" is one of Jonathan's better '80s efforts, and certainly
one of the most basic, performed in an acoustic trio format. It's still quite rocking, with heavy doo wop and Bo Diddley rhythms,
and a happy-go-lucky (though not too sappy) summertime campfire feel. Some of his best uptempo tunes are here.
