The Mothers of Invention / Freak Out!
Verve Records V-5005-2 (1966)(US) Original issue Double Record. One of the most ambitious debuts in rock history, "Freak Out!" was
a seminal concept album that somehow foreshadowed both art rock and punk at the same time. Its four LP sides deconstruct rock conventions
right and left, eventually pushing into territory inspired by avant-garde classical composers. The Records and Gatefold Cover (with
"Freak-Out hot spots" map blurb on inside) are in fairly nice (Very Good to Very Good+) condition (cover is clean/records show wear)...$50.00

The Mothers of Invention / Absolutely Free (Sold Out)
Verve Records V6-5013 (1967)(US) Original issue Record. The second Mothers of Invention record, "Absolutely Free" leaps from
style to style without warning. It has a freewheeling, almost schizophrenic quality, encompassing everything from complex
mutations of "Louie, Louie" to jazz improvisations and quotes from Stravinsky's The Rite of Spring. "Absolutely Free" is still
a fabulously inventive record, bursting at the seams with ideas.
The Record shows major wear (but playable) but the Gatefold Cover is clean (Very Good++) condition...$25.00 (SOLD 08/11)

The Mothers of Invention / We're Only In It For The Money
Verve Records V6-5045X (1968)(US) Original issue Stereo Record. Compositionally, the music on "We're Only In It For The Money"
reveals itself as exceptionally strong, and Frank Zappa's politics and satirical instinct have rarely been so focused and relevant,
making this album quite probably his greatest achievement. Regardless of how dark the subject matter, there's a pervasively surreal,
whimsical flavor to the music, sort of like "Sgt. Pepper" as a creepy nightmare. This is the rare censored version with lyrics deleted.
The Record and Gatefold Cover are in great (Very Good+ to Very Good++) condition (includes Bonus sheet of cut-outs/Mint-)...$75.00

Frank Zappa and the Mothers / Fillmore East: June 1971
WB/Discreet Records MS-2149 (1973)(US) Original issue Record. Fillmore East: June 1971 is a mixed bag, but it does represent the peak of
the Flo & Eddie edition of the Mothers. The band is undeniably good, especially as showcased on "Little House I Used to Live In," "Willie the
Pimp, Pt. 1," and "Peaches en Regalia." The Record (blue label) and Cover (in shrinkwrap) are in great (Very Good++) condition...$25.00

Frank Zappa and the Mothers / Over-nite Sensation (Promo)
WB/Discreet Records MS-2149 (1973)(US) Rare Promotional issue Record. Love it or hate it, "Over-Nite Sensation" was a watershed album for
Frank Zappa, the point where his post-'60s aesthetic was truly established. It became his first gold album, and most of these songs became
staples of his live shows for years to come. This album tightens up the song structures and tucks sexual and social humor into melodic,
technically accomplished heavy guitar rock with jazzy chord changes and funky rhythms for a classic Zappa moment. Record looks really nice
but cover shows some seam wear (approx. 2" of splitting at top/bottom of opening seam) and other wear. The Record (white promo label)
and Gatefold Cover (with title sticker) are in nice (Very Good+ to Very Good++) condition...$40.00
